Marijuana Smoke

According to results from Canadian Tobacco Use Monitoring Survey (CTUMS) 18% of Canada’s population age 15 years and older, were current smokers in 2006.  That’s just over 4.5 million people.  Nova Scotia has the highest rates of smoking in the country.

Important Information:

  • Tobacco smoke contains over 4000 chemicals (including at least 50 that can cause cancer).
  • Smoking can cause, and is the primary cause of, COPD
  • Second-hand smoke can cause serious health problems for non-smokers, especially children.
